Polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon)
PTFE is the gold standard for chemical resistance — virtually inert to all chemicals. Cannot be melt-processed, so it's machined or sintered.
Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene
FEP shares most of PTFE's chemical resistance but can be melt-processed, making it ideal for tubing, coatings, and complex shapes.
Maximum chemical resistance needed, high-temperature seals, gaskets, bearings, non-stick surfaces.
Tubing and linings requiring chemical resistance, lower-cost alternative to PTFE, transparent applications.
