Diesel Fuel Resistance of Polypropylene (PP)

Is Polypropylene (PP) compatible with Diesel Fuel?

Compatibility Rating

At 20°C
A
Excellent
Excellent resistance - recommended for continuous use
At 50°C
C
Fair
Limited resistance - short-term exposure only

Why is PP resistant to Diesel Fuel?

PP shows excellent resistance to Diesel Fuel due to its semi-crystalline structure providing good chemical resistance to acids, bases, and organic solvents at moderate concentrations.

⚠️ When NOT to use PP

Avoid using Polypropylene with concentrated oxidizing acids, chlorinated solvents, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Becomes brittle below 0°C.
