EPDM swells and degrades when exposed to:

  • Petroleum oils and fuels (gasoline, diesel)
  • Mineral oils and greases
  • Aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene)
  • Halogenated solvents
  • Concentrated acids
  • Turpentine and hydrocarbon solvents

Tip: For oil and fuel applications, use NBR (Nitrile) or Viton® (FKM) instead.
