Polyurethane (PU) is a versatile elastomer with excellent abrasion resistance and good chemical resistance to oils, fuels, greases and dilute acids. Performance varies with formulation (polyester-based vs polyether-based).
Polyurethane is not in the Bürkle source that supplies the other 24 materials on this site. The data below comes from PSI Urethanes (lab-tested at 21 °C / 70 °F, A-B-C scale), cross-referenced with Engineering Toolbox and Darwin Microfluidics. Polyurethane formulations vary widely; always verify with your specific resin manufacturer.

Polyurethane may degrade when exposed to:
Tip: For ketones and esters, use PTFE or FEP. For aggressive acids at high temperatures, use PVDF. For oil-based applications, PU outperforms EPDM and silicone.
