Viton (FKM) Properties

Full Name Fluoroelastomer (FKM/FPM)
Brand Name Viton® (Chemours)
Max Temperature 200°C (392°F) continuous
Min Temperature -20°C (-4°F)

Common Applications

Chemical Processing

Seals and gaskets for aggressive chemical environments

Aerospace

Fuel system seals, hydraulic seals

Fuel injector O-rings, emission system seals

Not Recommended For

Viton (FKM) may degrade when exposed to:

  • Ketones (acetone, MEK)
  • Low molecular weight esters
  • Amines
  • Hot water and steam above 150°C

Tip: For ketone resistance, consider EPDM. For steam service, EPDM is better suited.
